What is Semaglutide?

Semaglutide is a peptide (GLP-1) that was previously approved in 2017 to treat type 2 diabetes. Semaglutide was later FDA-approved in June 2021 for weight management purposes after trial data demonstrated favorable and unprecedented weight loss results. Semaglutide helps individuals to lose weight by increasing glucose-stimulated insulin secretion, reducing appetite, and promoting delayed gastric emptying.

How Much Weight Can I Lose?

While taking Semaglutide and used in conjunction with lifestyle modifications such as diet, exercise, and good sleep hygiene, it is common for patients to lose 15-20% of their body weight. Results may vary.

How Is Semaglutide Taken?

The medication is injected under the skin using an insulin needle.
